This composition contains Cefoperazone sodium and Sulbactum sodium which are used in combination to prevent the formation of bacterial protective covering outside bacteria which is necessary for the survival of bacteria.
Respiratory tract infections
Peritonitis
Skin infections
Endometritis
Urinary tract infections
Cefoperazone binds to penicillin binding protein which is present in the bacteria and thus inhibits the cell wall synthesis process and further cell wall lysis is mediated by autolysin enzymes.
Sulbactam inhibits the beta-lactamase enzyme of the bacteria which is responsible for the development of resistance and prevents the reduction in activity of bacteria.
Cefoperazone-
It is absorbed orally
It shows 93% protein binding
